The Chroniclers collaborative community rejects the notion there is a natural hostility between organizations and individuals. At our best, there is no separation between individuals and organizations. First, what is an organization if not a collection of individuals? Second, at their best these individuals share the same values, hopes, and, yes the same problems confronting all.

Now, organizations, like individuals can engage in helpful or harmful behavior, it is a question of values. If an organization is managed by individuals who believe the organization can only prosper at the expense of others, than it is likely to engage in unproductive activities. It may believe it is operating out of its own self-interest but such a shortsighted view can only hasten its demise.

Those organizations that value integrity, justice, honesty and giving their customers or clients as much value as possible are those that live long and prosper. They prosper because they are operating with "enlightened" self-interest. Many of those organizations will be found in the Directory of Solutions Sponsors.

The organizations that participate in the Chroniclers collaborative community value everyone's right to pursue happiness as the individual defines it, provided such pursuit does not infringe the rights of others.

Chroniclers guard themselves from the inherent dangers of viewing any organization or group of individuals as an amorphous group, but instead as individuals with dignity and worth inferior to no other.

Chroniclers place the highest possible value on facilitating the discovery of the root causes of all shared problems and in working collaboratively to develop and implement the best solutions, irrespective of who may or may not have contributed mightily to creating the problem.

Therefore, it is not the role of this collaborative community to endorse either a "liberal" or a "conservative" worldview but to anticipate, identify and solve problems. Chroniclers serve the greatest good by focusing on facts and refraining from name-calling, assigning blame or cheerleading for any politically motivated point of view. Chroniclers do not endorse or condemn individual politicians or political parties. It is well and good that each individual is free to reach his or her own conclusions on these and other matters.

That having been said, there is nothing to prohibit the community from carefully examining any existing or proposed action to evaluate the potential for creating a problem or contributing to a solution.

The shared goal of the community is to elevate the sum total of human knowledge believing, as Franklin did that:

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest".
