 Remember when, if it appeared in the local news, you could believe it? Now it seems it is either entertainment masquerading as news or it is a PR piece promoting one political point of view and attacking another. Quick question, if for as little as seven dollars you could play an important role in creating a worldwide news organization dedicated to Non Partisan Pursuit of Truth®, would you? I'm talking about a news organization with the ability to gather factual information about any news worthy event happening in your town or any town and report it truthfully without a left or right spin?

 In the late Fifties I was overcome with outrage when my U.S. History teacher talked about the cross burnings that were used to intimidate African-Americans from registering to vote.  In a Wall Street Journal article titled: “Red Ink Will Spur Change at Newspapers”, Martin Peers recommends changes, which might hasten the demise of more newspapers. He touts “consolidation” as an option admitting in one sentence that reliance on that particular option has “saddled many newspaper chains with too much debt”. Then he states “…the industry is still too fragmented” and goes on to recommend additional consolidations.
Is consolidation the solution? Consolidation has left many otherwise financially vibrant news organizations vulnerable, especially under current economic conditions. The dirty little secret corporate raiders
