The Chroniclers collaborative community makes winning such victories all the more attainable because the wisdom of many is invariably greater than that of any one individual or organization.

Let us break that down "knowledge engendering". The Encarta Dictionary defines "knowledge" thusly: "General awareness or possession of information, facts, ideas, truths, or principles"

The same source on "engender": "To arise or come into existence, or cause something to do so"

Quite tellingly, Encarta gives the following as a usage example for "Engender": "Secrecy engenders suspicion."

"Suspicious" could well serve as a description of how most of us feel toward big government, big business, big oil, big media, big (fill in the blank). As a practical matter, most would agree that the recent failures of large institutions are of galactic proportions.

However, Chroniclers reject the notion that this is how it must be. Instead our mission is to collaborate on creating a new social pact among individuals and between individuals and organizations. A social pact that allows all to achieve full potential.

To that end, Chroniclers engage in knowledge engendering. It is the collaborative community's job to bring facts into the awareness of those who seek truth. In so doing our collective understanding and comprehension of issues leads to a level of wisdom that is up to the challenges of self-governance and confronting our most confounding problems.

Therefore, the Chroniclers' mission is to seek truth, find truth, to reveal truth and report truth believing only truth will lead us to a victories for humanity. Chroniclers are dedicated to using their intelligence to help shape a future less prone to the destructive results of untruths.

The free flow of ideas is the bedrock of a free society; one equipped with truth-based knowledge necessary for selecting solutions to shared problems. To Chroniclers, truth is not only something to be cherished, but the one way of life that creates the greater good for the greatest number.

The collaborative community of Chroniclers is re-purposing news and information activities to better cope with problems and posit solutions. We welcome the participation of professional and citizen journalists, freelancers, contributors, experts, academics, judges, professionals of all stripes, working class heroes, watchdogs and organizations who wish to be part of the solution to our shared problems.

Forthrightly, we always give an emphatic "YES" to the Truth Seekers Question: "If what you believe were not true, would you want to know?" We know only a thorough examination and accurate evaluation of the facts serve the greater good. We believe most of us, when given the choice between a soft lie and the hard truth will choose truth.

Chroniclers wholeheartedly endorse the premise that, no matter what the issue, "Somebody Knows Something®". We believe the more voices heard, the more likely truth will be revealed. We pledge ourselves to remain not only open to all points of view, but to welcome enthusiastically a diversity of opinions. We pledge never to control the flow of news, reserving censorship rights only to eliminate ad hominem attacks, false or misleading content, profanity and rude discourse.

Our content is not under the control of a media mogul, venture capitalist, government bureaucrat or any group of partisan individuals, rather:

Our content is created by millions of Chroniclers affiliated with thousands of independent local, licensed Chronicles' Publishers who produce their own Chronicles and nurture their own online collaborative communities under a set of Bylaws that stipulate they can lose their License to Publish if they fail to consistently adhere to Non Partisan Pursuit of Truth®.

2. Moreover, the Bylaws empower the registered users with extraordinary power to safeguard against any specific Publisher straying from Non Partisan Pursuit of Truth®. The result is a news and information network serving truth in perpetuity believing that truth is the best path to solving shared problems.

In those cases where disagreements on issues occur among members of our community we only ask that each member grant to every other member the same consideration they would wish for their own position(s). To paraphrase Voltaire, "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."
